Introduction

Do not Bring Elohim's Wrath

1. Moses called the attention to the real reason why these tribes wanted to settle the TransJordan. They were hesitant about going to war.
2. This was a potentially treasonous act against Elohim's plan for the nation.
3. Moses realized that that their request had all the hallmarks of the great rebellion in which Israel had rejected Elohim's gift of the land. Note the words discourage and discouraged in 32:7 and 9.

Fight Until The Land is Conquered

1. The Reubenites and Gadites pledged their full support for the conquest of the land west of the Jordan River.
2. Even to the point of leading the way for the remainder of the tribes.
3. If Moses would allow them to take their inheritance in Transjordan and permit them to leave their families in the safekeeping of the local towns.

Moses Lists Conditions

1. Moses consented other request of these tribes under both positive (if you will do this) and negative (if you will not do so) stipulations.
2. The covenant between the Gad-Reuben alliance and the other ten tribes had Moses as the mediator and Yehovah as the witness and guarantor of the commitment made by the two groups.
3. The Gadites and Reubenites ratified the agreement as servants of Moses and ultimately of Elohim.

Two and a Half Tribes Inherit Land

1. The Gadites were granted land in the southern part of the territory formerly held by Sihon king of the Amorites.
2. Gad shared its northern border with the half tribe of Mannasheh.
3. The cities listed for Gad in the Tanakh suggest that narrow strip of land in the Jordan Rive plain extending from the Jabbok River to the Sea of Galilee was to be included in the Allocation. 

The Other Side of the Jordan 

1. Reuben and the Children of Gad were a great multitude and like Lot in Genesis 13 He was a great multitude and He separated from Abraham just Reuben and Gad separated from Moses and the people.
2. Be careful that you don't move from Yehovah's Will because something looks good from a distance.
3. Lot ended up losing his home because the eventually moved to Sodom. Reuben and Gad because of their poor choices were of the first tribes to be exiled in the first exile.

Take Away

1. Reuben and Gad saw the beautiful land before them and decided to settle there.
2. The two and half tribes did go up and fight with the children of Israel.
3. Because of their poor choices they were of the first of the exiles that lost their inheritance. What if all the tribes would have accepted their inheritances in the land?

Application

1. I will not allow discouragement to stop me from doing what Yehovah told me to do.
2. I will fight that Satan will not steel my inheritance away from me.
3. I will strive to obey the voice of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) in the choices that I make in my life as a follower of Yeshua HaMashiach!
